Payment Options
The conference fee, payable to MEDICC upon registration, covers:
- Conference registration, including full program and sign-up for specific activities according to your interests
- Airport transfers in Cuba (from Holguín to Santiago and return, approximately 2.5 hours each way)
- All transportation to and from off-site conference sessions
- Either four or five nights at the 5-star Meliã Santiago Hotel at special conference rates
- ALL breakfasts, lunches and dinners (within Conference program)
- Expert translation for all conference sessions
- Logistical assistance from AMISTUR travel agency in Cuba
- Evening special events, including Closing Gala in Santiago
- Cuban health insurance through ASISTUR
- Conference badge and T-shirt
- For those staying until December 10: experience-of-a-lifetime history session in the Sierra Maestra mountains at La Plata, headquarters of Fidel Castro’s Rebel Army
- PLUS opportunities to meet Cubans from many walks of life and exchange with MEDICC Board members and staff.
Not included are airfare, Cuban visa and FedEx document delivery from Marazul.
Conference air arrangements: Pre-reserved roundtrip flights are listed on the REGISTRATION FORM and Conference FAQ from cities in the USA to Holguín, north of Santiago (AMISTUR will provide air-conditioned buses from Holguín airport to Santiago for conference participants). The form also has instructions on how to take advantage of these pre-reserved seats, only available through September 28, 2018.
Conference land arrangements (land package) are offered only through Marazul, the Conference’s official travel agency. If you also make air arrangements through Marazul, they will invoice you separately after your registration date for air, visa, and FedEx delivery. Your invoice will come via email from Joel Andujar or Giselle Ortega at Marazul. If you make your own air arrangements, your airline will arrange your visa.
Travel for Free! If you refer 20 people to the Conference (all of them must pay on time and complete travel), you may travel for free from Fort Lauderdale or Miami, including visa as well as land package. Please have all your traveling partners add your name on the REGISTRATION form when they sign up for the Conference.
Cancellation and Refund Policies If you have to cancel your travel for any unforeseen reason, refund policies are:
- If you cancel by October 1, 2018, you will receive a full refund of your conference fees, less applicable banking fees.
- If you cancel by October 26, 2018, you will receive a 50% refund of your conference fees, less applicable banking fees.
- After October 26, conference fees are non-refundable.
In the case of cancellation of flight reservations, Marazul and/or airline policies will apply.
